REGISTER NOW - Spring Fling Apron Swap

 Now is the time to register for the next round of the Flirty Apron Swap.  If you love to sew cute and flirty aprons, this swap is for YOU!!  I cannot believe how fast winter flew by, and today is the first FULL DAY of spring.  Now, I know in some parts of the country, the weather still feels very cold and dreary.  So, let's brighten things up with a swap!

Spring Fling Flirty Apron Swap
Deadline to Register:  March 31
NEW FAS Swappers Mail to Shawnee before:  April 21
All Others Mail After:  April 22
Mail Before:  April 30

Create a handmade "Spring Fling" apron – a special apron that has something on it related to a springtime theme – flowers, a cleaning apron, Easter,  or gardening.  In addition to the apron, please tuck-in three little gifts with your box, one for each letter of your partner's initials.

Items must be handcrafted, new from the store, or thrifted (but only if they are in “better than new” condition). Plan on spending a minimum of $10 on tuck-ins in addition to your apron and postage (boxes MUST be sent 2-day priority w/tracking). Then, make this a special box – gift wrapping, bows, the whole nine yards!

Include a note identifying yourself with your email and blog address so your partner can contact you with her grateful thanks.

This is a short sign-up window, so I've got goodies for early registrants and those who share the info.

FIRST 12 REGISTRANTS:  Philly Cooking Crème Gift Bag
I had a House Party that didn't go as planned so YOU get the rewards, this fun little Philly Cooking Cremes gift package with notepad, magnet, recipe book, coupon to TRY the new Philly Cooking Creme, a HSN coupon, and a special wooden spoon.  I will mail a gift set to the first twelve registrants who ask for one!

It's great when you post our FAS15 badge on your blog or tweet/share this swap on Facebook.  Comment on the Flirty Apron Swap blog if you do either one, and you will be entered to win a $15 Thirty One Gift Certificate from me.
 Thirty One is what I do when I'm not working full time in HR, volunteering, or swapping with you guys; I get to share 31's totes, purses, bags, kids gifts, and more with girlfriends at home parties or online parties.  Founded on the principles in Proverbs 31, I help busy women on-the-go combine their passion for fashion with their desire for organization. If you want to know more about Thirty One, just fill out this form.

After you register, head on over to the Apronista for a chance to win THIS hot apron from Purple Bee Designs!

NEW Flirty Apron Swap - Polka Dot Pretties

While team Lucy and Shawnee aren't co-hosting any swaps right now, Shawnee invites you to join her newest FLIRTY APRON SWAP. Here's the details:

Registration Deadline:  April 1

Partners Sent: April 3

NEW Swappers: mail to Shawnee before April 24

All Others Mail After: April 24

But Mail Before: May 1

Create a handmade "Polka Dot Pretties" flirty apron, and include a marvelous cookbook in your package – new, thrifted, re-gifted … as long as the cookbook looks and feels brand new, it’s a good one.  Make your package pretty … wrap it in tissue, tie it up with a polka-dotted bow, and include a personal little note card please

It seems like everywhere I look, all I see are adorable polka-dotted goodies.  I personally just bought myself a black and white polka dotted mug for tea at work.  I decorated snack tables at my church’s womens retreat and all my accessories were “dotty” this past weekend.  I even found an adorable black and white polka dot top on sale that I adore!

So, in this swap, participants will create a handmade “Polka Dot Pretties” apron.  You do NOT have to make the whole thing from polka-dots!  That’s TOO predictable.  If you prefer, use the dots for accents, polka-dot ribbon ties, maybe the pockets … perhaps you’ll find some rick-rack like I’ve used, that was dotted!  Do what makes you smile.  For your cookbook, please take the time to find one that you’d like to receive, not just any old cookbook, ‘k?   You gotta sign up by April Fool’s Day and send before May Day.

As always, if you have anything you'd like to donate for a giveaway, just let me know, and I'm happy to highlight your shop or blog in exchange.

Normal rules apply (aka you and I will be email buddies)
Email me four times:
#1 - within 48 hours of assignment to keep playing
#2 -when you send your package WITH TRACKING NUMBER
#3 -when you receive your package
#4 -cc me on your thank you email (can combine with #3)

Shipped Aprons Giveaway

Ok Aprons are due this weekend. I know that several of you have been super busy sewing your kids into costumes so we are letting you chime in by Monday.
So if it isn't shipped already, please sit down now and sew up some lovely pink wonderfulness! You also need to get your box stuffed $15 worth of pink fabulousness!

You then need to chime in and email us and let us know that you DID send it and give a delivery confirmation number so it can be tracked. Believe me that really is important. Then you KNOW where your package is because they can track it down and who had it last.

So if you do all these things we do have a lovely prize for you. Everyone that chimes in with the email to us by Monday night will be entered in the drawing for a lovely apron made by one of our talented swappers, Sveltlana. Go check out her Etsy shop. She makes aprons to DIE FOR.

NEW Passionately Pink Apron Swap - Sign Up NOW

We here at the Sassy/Flirty Apron Swap (Lucy and Shawnee) are very proud to announce the start up of our newest apron swap. This swap is run like a club, with a very special twist this time around.

pink aprons 004

Passionately Pink Apron Swap
I think it’s safe to say that almost EVERYONE knows somebody who’s had breast cancer – sometimes it’s a co-worker or a best friend, sometimes it’s a close loved one, and sometimes it’s personal. That said, WE as women can help in this fight against breast cancer and raise funds for breast cancer research while encouraging and uplifting each other. And, there’s no better time than October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

So, I told you our latest club swap has a twist. Here it is: you will make TWO Passionately Pink aprons in this swap – one for your assigned partner and will include at least $15 worth of pink goodies to make a fun package; the second apron is for you to somehow leverage for The Cause. For example, my (Shawnee’s) second apron is being given to my friend who’s a breast cancer survivor. Kristi is collecting donations for her Race for the Cure and will put all her donors names into a drawing with one lucky winner receives my Zebra and Hot Pink apron. The possibilities are endless.
You could:
• donate your apron to a local clinic to be given to a woman who needs a smile;
• wrap it around a casserole and deliver your apron to someone you know is going through
treatment;
• auction it off on your website to raise funds to donate toward research;
• make it in memory of someone and give it to her family as a cherished keepsake;
• ????

I have formed a team at the Susan G Komen’s Passionately Pink site for us to track our progress; once you’ve signed up for this swap, also join my team so we can track funds raised in this swap. And, at the end, we want to hear your stories of Apron Number Two and see pictures!!

***How to sign up***
Sassy/Flirty Apron Swap - Passionately Pink Apron Swap
Last day to sign-up - October 10, 2009
Last Day to Ship Packages - October 30, 2009

Once again we have an on-line registration form and participation fee. Half of the fees will be donated to Breast Cancer research, half will be held for prizes and angel packages. To sign up, go to the side bar and choose to join Team Shawnee or Team Lucy (teams make no difference in swap partners, just divides up the work for us). Clicking on the Team Button will take you to the pay pal page where you will pay your swap fee of $10. After paying the fee, you will then be taken to the swap registration form. Fill that out and you will start getting emails about the swap and what to do from there. If you have something you'd like to donate as a prize (preferably pink or breast cancer logo'd), then your registration fee is only $8.

This cause is so close to our hearts. PLEASE, grab an image and post about this swap on your blogs, tweet your little hearts out, call your buddies .... let’s set a record with the number of participants this time around!! If you have any questions, please let either Lucy or Shawnee know right away!

Finish Line Giveaway!!!

Yeah!!! We are at the finish line. The aprons are due to be shipped by Saturday night. That gives you less than 24 hours to get your packages finished and shipped out! What fun!

We have a wonderful giveaway for you. Actually we have a few to give.

First off we have a grand prize of 7 half yard cuts of fabric from
fabric
The fabric is flights of fancy by Paula Prass for Michael Miller.
If you haven't already checked out her shop you should. She has wonderful fabric selections and some pretty wonderful patterns. I have made 3 of them myself and love them.
Then we have 3 other prizes to give out to 3 more of our swappers.
First we have a wonderful Tomato gift package from Shawnee but unfortunately there is no picture as her sad camera cord is missing and the poor picture is stuck on her camera.
Second we have an original Daisy Mae apron from Mama Byrd herself that is perfect for gardening, crafting, quilting, etc... the possibilities are endless.

Garden 2009 004
Flower detail
Garden 2009 006
Third we have a wonderful little bee ornament that Shawnee picked up for us. Unfortunately again the picture is held hostage on her poor camera.
Now get busy and post those packages. Remember that SOME of you are lucky enough to have a post office with a machine that lets you post a package anytime. SOME of us are more rural than that and didn't even know that such machines existed let alone what their name is.
Remember to post your pictures in the flicker account too. We want to see what you are doing.

Prize Blitz -- Two-fer Thursday

Hi Busy Bees!!! Michelle from Busy Bee Quilt Designs is providing our next two prizes -- first, the infamous Lilly Apron Pattern.

Isn't this so cute? I've seen this made up in a variety of fabrics and it's always a winner. I made one myself in my last swap and it was very well received.

OR, maybe you prefer half-aprons? If so, you're gonna love this French Flea Market Apron.

I own this pattern, too, and I really like how it's assembled and major full coverage going on.

Both of these patterns are so flexible and will come out entirely different depending on the fabrics chosen. If YOU want to win one of these, please leave us a message about WHICH pattern you really want and WHY you like it best. For FIVE extra entries, send Michelle a "Thank You for the Prizes" email at "busybeedesigns at comcast.net" (fix the formatting), then leave a second message here telling us you did.
